Ways you can help
Simple Edits
Spelling/typo/and grammar mistakes. We all make them, and some of us make enough of them for 3 or 4 people.
If you see one you could:
- Scream.
- Hyperventilate
- Click "edit" at the top of the screen, and fix it.
Major Edits
Did we make a mistake? Have the hours changed? Has the business gone under? Just click edit, make the corrections, and save them.
Blank Pages
Sometimes people create links to pages that don't exist yet. Either because they don't have detailed information, or because they run out of time, and wanted to make sure they, or someone else, filled in the information later. These links always show up as red links.
If you are not sure about how to format your pages so they look like all the others, that's OK. You can:
- Get the information on the page and let someone else do the formatting.
- Go to a page who's formatting you want to copy, click "edit", copy the raw data, and paste it into your new page.
Discussion
If you are too intimidated to make the change on the page it's self, you can always just mention your idea on the "Discussion page".
Every Wiki page has a discussion page associated with it. Just click on the discussion page, and jump right in with your opinions, thoughts, concerns, etc.. Eventually someone in the community will read your ideas, and make changes to the page as necessary.
Messing up
OMG OMG OMG I just deleted everyting on the page!!!
That's ok. One of the coolest things about a wiki is it tracks all changes to a page. And if someone makes an edit in error, or because they just want to cause trouble, or because all the cool talk show hosts are doing it, anyone in the community can undo the change.
